Ph.D. Marcin Geryk, prof. UJ

He holds a postdoctoral degree in economics in the field of management sciences, earned in 2012 from the College of Management and Finance at the Warsaw School of Economics. He graduated from the Faculty of Management at the University of Gdańsk (1995) and holds a PhD in economics from the Warsaw School of Economics in 2006. He has been a professor at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków since 2017. He is a member of the Discipline Council for Management and Quality Sciences. He has also led numerous projects funded by the European Union:

From the outset, he has been associated with the education market in Poland. In 1999, he opened the Gdańsk University of Management (renamed the Gdańsk University of Health in 2018), and in 2003, the Warsaw University of Infrastructure and Management (renamed the Warsaw University of Engineering and Health in 2015). He serves as Chancellor of both universities. In addition to university management, he is also involved in research. His research interests focus on the higher education market and social responsibility. He is the author of several dozen articles of national and international scope and three monographs: "Social Responsibility of Universities," "Social Responsibility of Universities in the Perception of Their Stakeholders. Research Report" (translated into English and Chinese), and "The Private University Market in Poland." He represents our school at the Central and East European Management Development Association (CEEMAN) in Bled, Slovenia. He collaborates with the International Institute for Advances Studies in Systems Research and Cybernetics (IIAS) at the University of Windsor in Canada. In 2004, he was nominated for the title of Top Manager of the Year in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. In 2010, he was awarded the President's Medal of the International Institute for Advances Studies in Systems Research and Cybernetics in Baden-Baden for outstanding achievements. He participates in the PRME Working Group on Poverty, a Challenge for Management Education, as part of which he participated in the 2nd PRME Regional Meeting DACH & Responsible Management Education Research Conference (Chur, Switzerland, October 29-30, 2014), along with the Responsible Management Education Research Conference "The Future of Responsible Management Education" (October 30, 2014). He is a member of the editorial board of the Eurasian Journal of Leadership (e-JoL), published by Almaty Management University (Kazakhstan).

TEACHING ACTIVITIES

Since 2017, he has been employed as an associate professor at the Faculty of Management and Social Communication (Department of Quality Management) of the Jagiellonian University. He teaches courses focused on management, including international economic relations, risk management, and globalization. He also supervises master's and doctoral students in their theses.
