Highly specialized and selected teaching staff from the Gdańsk University of Applied Medical Sciences will ensure proper communication of information and the development of candidates' interpersonal skills.
PRACTICAL DIRECTION
An important mission of the Gdańsk Medical Academy of Applied Sciences is to educate highly specialized staff in the fields of medical and health sciences, where we place particular emphasis on preparing our graduates for practical professional practice. The 960-hour internship is organized into five consecutive blocks, allowing students to more effectively utilize their practical experience.
FLEXIBLE STUDY PROGRAM
The curriculum has been designed to be flexibly tailored to each student's individual needs and aptitudes. To this end, students can choose from a wide range of elective courses and three study paths.
Our teaching staff is comprised of practitioners who, in a professional yet accessible manner, offer insights into the practical work of a psychologist. Among them are experienced clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, certified psychotherapists, supervisors, and specialists in neuropsychology, sexology, sports psychology, transport psychology, pedagogy, coaching, and career counseling.
EMPHASIS ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOFT SKILLS
Since soft skills are an indispensable tool in the work of a psychologist, students will have the opportunity to expand them not only through acquiring theoretical knowledge but also through practical work. To this end, the curriculum includes participation in integration workshops, conflict resolution workshops, and mentalization classes, among other activities.

The profession of psychologists involves constant contact with others, not only with patients but also with colleagues. Therefore, candidates should be open to change and the problems of others, patient and persistent, respectful and tolerant of others' views, beliefs, and attitudes, and possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work in a team and collaborate with specialists, empathy, patience, and sensitivity. Kindness, honesty, tactfulness, and discretion are also essential, along with a high ethical awareness, maturity, stress tolerance, awareness of one's strengths and weaknesses, responsibility, and the ability to exercise self-control and make quick decisions, including a willingness to solve unconventional problems. Furthermore, candidates should demonstrate a willingness to continuously develop and an awareness of the need for self-improvement.
