Student FAQ
Hello students of the Gdańsk Medical University of Applied Sciences. We've prepared a "Student ABC" for you to help you navigate our student community:
AND) For the next few years, the Gdańsk Medical University of Applied Sciences will be the place where you will spend a large part of your time, so it would be worth knowing who to turn to when solving any problems.
B) You can contact the Rector's Plenipotentiary for Education and Students in matters relating to the extension of the examination session, conditional crediting of the semester, admission to the examination board and consent to leave from classes and repeating the semester (application forms).
C) You contact the GAM Chancellor regarding financial matters – the Chancellor agrees to payment of tuition fees in instalments, extension of payment deadlines, etc.
D) Student Services Office (Dean's Office) – this is certainly the place you will visit most often
- this is where you will get information about exams and tests,
- this is where you apply for all certificates related to your studies (for the bank, ZUS, etc.),
- This is also where you submit all applications to the university authorities and learn about the responses to them,
- you explain most of the issues related to the course of study,
- Please remember to pay your tuition fees on time – access to the virtual dean's office depends on this. If you wish to pay for your studies in installments, do not forget to submit an application to the Chancellor in advance – for financial matters, you must contact Payment Office,
E) To complete a semester of study, you must successfully complete all subjects scheduled for that semester. According to the study regulations, a subject may end:
- exam
- passing
- credit and exam,
F) If the subject ends with an exam, remember that you cannot take the exam until you have passed the exercises,
G) You are required to monitor your coursework and exam grades in the Virtual Dean's Office. If you have any questions, please discuss them ASAP with your lecturer or the Student Services Office. You will see your grades entered in the Virtual Dean's Office, which you will be granted access to at the beginning of the academic year.,
H) If you fail to pass the exam in the examination session, you have the right to take it in a retake session (free of charge),
AND) If, despite all these efforts, you fail to pass the exam in the resit session, you can apply to the Rector's Representative for Academic Affairs and Students for conditional enrollment in the next semester. Conditional enrollment means that you must attend classes in the course you failed while also attending classes in the following semester. Conditional enrollment is subject to a fee. The Rector's Representative for Academic Affairs and Students will set a deadline for you to pass the missed course.
J) If you fail to pass the semester in any of the ways specified in the regulations, you will be required to repeat the semester. But remember: first-semester students are not eligible to repeat the semester.
