Diploma examination – first-cycle nursing

Diploma exam schedule:

Deadline for submitting internship journals from semester VI to the Internship Office is June 22, 2026.

First date of the theoretical diploma exam of the studies – June 29, 2026, 3:00 p.m.

Information about the diploma process

S5 days before the scheduled date of the Theoretical Diploma Examination, the student is obliged to:

  1. To have all successfully completed subjects, including professional internships specified in the study program – obligatory;
  2. To have all entries from tests and exams in the Virtual Dean's Office System – obligatory;
  3. Have the circulation card settled online in the Virtual Dean’s Office System by three University offices: the Payments and Scholarships Office, the Internships Office and the Library – obligatory;
    (please contact the office by email or phone and ask for your electronic circulation card to be stamped. The Student Services Office does not stamp circulation cards);
  4. Complete the survey from the Educational Process Satisfaction Survey (the survey will be made available online using the Microsoft Teams platform on the general channel of the lecture group of a given field of study) – obligatory;
  5. To pass additional information for the Diploma Supplement along with certified documentation. The information contained in this document is the basis for its specification on the Diploma Supplement – for those interested!
    (students who do not have any additional achievements, e.g. awards, work in a scientific club, etc., do not need to submit this document).
  6.  Return the Campus B access card – obligatory.

Failure to meet any of the requirements will result in not being allowed to take the Diploma Examination on the scheduled date and will authorize an employee of the Student Services Office to inform the student about this fact!

The text of the thesis must be checked in Uniform Anti-plagiarism System. The student is obliged to deliver the thesis (file in text format – PDF, DOC, DOCX, ODT or RTF, not exceeding 15MB) to the supervisor (in the manner indicated by him/her)  in such time as to be able to submit all required documents no later than 2 days before the scheduled date of the diploma examination, which will also include a Similarity Report generated from the anti-plagiarism system after it has been accepted by the supervisor (it is recommended to submit the thesis to the Unified Anti-plagiarism System at least 14 days before the defense).

Submitting documents for diploma examinations takes place only at the Student Service Office, room 200 (the employee only accepts the complete set):

  • 3 copies of the thesis:
    – 1 hardcover copy for the reviewer,
    – 1 hardcover copy for the supervisor (unless the supervisor has other instructions),
    – 1 copy for the university archives in a softcover, bound, printed on both sides with the supervisor’s annotation on the back of the title page: (download the print),
  • the archival copy should be accompanied by an electronic version on CD or DVD in PDF format,
  • anti-plagiarism analysis report accepted in the system by the supervisor (general report, approx. 3-4 pages),
  • statement about writing a diploma thesis independently,
  • additional information for the diploma supplement along with certified documentation (download the print). The information contained in this document is the basis for its specification on the diploma supplement. (students who do not have any additional achievements, e.g. awards, work in a scientific club, etc., do not have to submit the above-mentioned document)


Attention!
Application for a copy in English (download the print): It is possible to obtain an additional copy of the diploma in English along with a copy of the supplement translated into English. To do so, you must pay a fee of PLN 40 (PLN 20 for a copy of the diploma translated into a foreign language, PLN 20 for a copy of the supplement translated into a foreign language) and provide proof of payment.
The above application may only be submitted by a person with graduate status.

If you request additional information in the supplement, this information must also be translated into English.

The diploma examination for first-cycle studies in nursing consists of three parts:


1)
  Theoretical Diploma Examination

It is a written, single-choice test exam consisting of 80 closed questions.

2) Practical Diploma Examination

It involves completing an examination task drawn before the Diploma Committee to be completed independently, which simulates the work of a nurse, while receiving the necessary information such as: patient card with initials, medical diagnosis and the room number in which the patient is located.

In the presence of members of the Diploma Examination Committee, the student performs all planned activities within the examination task consisting of:

  • oral presentation of the nursing diagnosis and care plan;
  • providing nursing care to the patient;
  • written and oral presentation of a report on the nursing process to the Diploma Examination Board in accordance with the applicable form (Appendix No. 4 – Report on the nursing process).
The duration of the diploma examination is 8 teaching hours (6 clock hours) including a 30-minute break during the entire examination, decided by the Chairman of the Diploma Examination Committee.
 

3) Defense of the thesis

The defense of the thesis is submitted to the Diploma Examination Board. It includes:

  • oral presentation of the thesis;
  • oral answer to 2 questions from the supervisor regarding the topic of the thesis;
  • oral answer to 1 question from the reviewer regarding the topic of the thesis.
