Specialized workshops for university administration staff

On December 11, 2025, the Student Scientific Club of Physiotherapy at the University of Health in Gdańsk conducted specialized workshops for university administration employees, devoted to the ergonomics of office work, healthy posture and the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders resulting from prolonged sitting.

During the meeting, we discussed key principles of safe workplace organization, as well as practical ways to prevent spinal strain. Participants learned about:

  • role breath in the regulation of muscle tone and posture stabilization,
  • protection principles sight while working at the screen,
  • simple, short movement exercises and repositioning techniques that help reduce the risk of back, neck and shoulder pain.

The event was another step in promoting health and ergonomics in the academic environment.

Visit to Primary School No. 2 in Sierakowice

On December 3, 2025, the Physiotherapy Student Scientific Club of the University of Health in Gdańsk visited Primary School No. 2 in Sierakowice, where we conducted preventive physiotherapy examinations for approximately 60 first-grade students.

The goal of our visit was to provide an early assessment of posture and motor function, as well as to promote healthy habits that can protect children from later musculoskeletal strain. As part of the screening, we assessed:

  • spine alignment, body posture,
  • primitive reflexes, respiratory indicators,
  • elements of coordination, balance and others.

Moreover, the students’ parents completed a short questionnaire about screen time, which will allow us to assess the impact of digital stress on the attitude and well-being of the youngest children.

The visit was an important element of our Chapter’s health-promoting activities, combining education, prevention, and social involvement.
