The main purpose of the activity Dietetics Scientific Club functioning in Gdańsk Medical Academy of Applied Sciences The purpose of the program is to develop students' interests, expand their knowledge, and hone their practical skills in the field of dietetics. The dietetics program is interdisciplinary in nature, encompassing a range of topics in human anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, food chemistry and bromatology, and cultural, social, and environmental determinants that influence society's diet. Contemporary dietary knowledge also encompasses issues in psychology and sociology essential for maintaining and protecting proper human health through a properly organized and rational diet, taking into account pathological changes in the body and the associated occurrence of diet-related and lifestyle diseases.
The main directions of activity Dietetics Scientific Club It is important to expand interests in the field of individual and group nutrition by acquiring knowledge and skills to utilize it in assessing nutritional status, preventing nutritionally dependent disease states, assessing dietary patterns and diagnosing malnutrition, assessing the health quality of food products and their storage conditions, food production systems, the impact of disease states on nutritional status, and the impact of nutrition on the treatment outcomes of a number of diseases. Important aspects in this regard include the appropriate organization of individual and group therapeutic nutrition, tailored to the age and health of patients, a properly prepared nutritional offer within the proposed dietary catering, providing nutritional education, and planning rational nutrition for various population groups.
An important element of the nature of the business Dietetics Scientific Club The club's mission is to promote knowledge about food and nutrition, promote health and nutrition education, and conduct research. During regular meetings, thematic discussions with food and nutrition specialists are planned, focusing on the specifics of the dietitian profession and the latest news and publications in the field of nutritional prevention, with the aim of enhancing professional competence. The club's active involvement also includes promoting nutritional knowledge, exchanging experiences with other scientific clubs, societies, and organizations, participating in conferences, and promoting the school.
