Scholarships from the National Reconstruction Plan
EDITION 2
We are pleased to announce that The Gdańsk Medical University of Applied Sciences is implementing a project for the second time in the form of scholarships for students of medicine, medicine and dentistry, medical analysis, physiotherapy and pharmacy, Edition 2. The program is intended for students who began their first year of studies in one of the above-mentioned fields in the 2023/2024 academic year.
This project is of particular importance to us – it not only provides real support for young people, but also a well-thought-out investment in the future of the healthcare system in Poland. Financial assistance during the education phase allows students to fully concentrate on acquiring knowledge and developing competencies, without the need to take on additional paid employment. This increases the chances of ambitious and committed individuals completing demanding programs, thus broadening access to medical professions. This is particularly important given the growing demand for qualified medical personnel, both in our region and nationwide.
The scholarship program is part of broader efforts to strengthen the healthcare system. By investing in the education of future medical and health science specialists, in our case – physiotherapy students, we are building a stable foundation for the development of modern, accessible, and effective healthcare.
Today's students will be the ones who will determine the quality of medical services, the availability of services, and the level of public health security in just a few years. I believe the effects of this program will be long-lasting, resulting in improved access to specialists, shorter wait times for services, and improved treatment standards. This is an investment that pays off many times over – in the form of citizens' health, safety, and quality of life.
Dr. Marzena Podgórska, MD, PhD, prof. GAMNS, rector of the Gdańsk Academy of Applied Medical Sciences
The project is part of Investment D2.1.1 entitled „Investments related to the modernization and retrofitting of teaching facilities in connection with the increase in admission limits to medical studies” implemented under the National Plan for Recovery and Resilience – Component D „Efficiency, accessibility and quality of the health care system”.
