  • In the case of underage candidates, the consent of parents/legal guardians is required for the underage person to undertake studies.
  • legalization/apostille of foreign education documents.

Foreign secondary school leaving certificates obtained outside Poland (except the International Baccalaureate diploma and the European Baccalaureate certificate) must be apostille-stamped or legalized. On this basis, foreign documents are recognized as valid on the territory of Poland. In the case of documents issued in countries that are parties to the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961 (Journal of Laws of 2005, No. 112, item 938), you must obtain a document called an apostille. You can find a list of countries and institutions responsible for issuing apostilles in each of them. here. For example, if the diploma was issued in Ukraine, the apostille will be issued by the Ministry of Education in Kyiv. It's important to remember that the apostille is a document prepared in a language other than Polish and therefore should be translated if the applicant is applying for studies in Polish.

Legalization It confirms the authenticity of a document issued in a country other than Poland. It must be obtained if obtaining an apostille is impossible because the country that issued the document has not adopted the Hague Convention mentioned above. If the certificate was issued in such a country, it means that you must contact the institution responsible for legalizing documents intended for circulation abroad in that country. Typically, this is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Ministry of Education. After obtaining the required confirmation from such an institution, you should contact the Polish consulate, which will finally legalize the document.
