TASKS OF THE INTERNAL EDUCATION QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM
The main task of the Internal Quality Assurance System at the Gdańsk Medical University of Applied Sciences is to comprehensively monitor the quality of education across all fields of study offered at the University, thereby improving the quality of education. To this end, uniform bodies, procedures, and instruments for quality education have been established that meet the requirements of the Act and regulations. These include established permanent bodies and councils, and consultations with representatives of internal stakeholders, including students and employees, as well as external stakeholders, including representatives of the labor market and graduates of specific fields of study.
Monitoring academic standards involves systematically analyzing and assessing each program of study, including: research and teaching staff based on their academic achievements in the specific field and discipline, professional experience relevant to the program and subject taught, classroom observations conducted by individuals designated by the Rector, periodic student satisfaction surveys, and overall faculty assessments, as well as the compliance of study plans and programs with the intended learning outcomes, compliance with the requirements of the Polish Qualifications Framework, and applicable educational standards for the given program. Evaluation and improvement of the teaching process in a given program encompasses all forms of study. The assessment consists of the following parts: compliance of the graduate's profile with the offered study program, study program and study plan, field-specific learning outcomes and all guidelines related to the Polish Qualifications Framework or educational standards, the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), credit and examination requirements and requirements related to the diploma process (theoretical and practical exam, preparation and defense of the diploma thesis - specified for individual fields and modes of study) and the availability of teaching aids; access to information (access to the University's website); access to the library, reading room and online catalogues, including the state of the collections.

THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES ARE ADDITIONALLY USED AS MECHANISMS FOR ENSURING HIGH QUALITY EDUCATION AND ACHIEVING THE TARGET LEARNING OUTCOMES:
- evaluation of the educational process leading to the achievement of the assumed learning outcomes in all fields of study and postgraduate studies,
- assessment of the quality of teaching and study conditions,
- exemplary organization of teaching activities, which will ensure high quality of education,
- attention to improving the qualifications of teaching staff, which should strive for professionalism in the educational process,
- providing appropriate means of supporting students in their scientific, teaching and social activities,
- effective participation of internal and external stakeholders in the process of defining and verifying the intended learning outcomes.
THE MAIN GOAL OF THE GDANSK UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED MEDICAL SCIENCES IS TO PROVIDE HIGH-QUALITY EDUCATION, WHICH IS ACHIEVED BY PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING TASKS:
- providing competent research and teaching staff and creating conditions for their continuous development,
- ensuring the functioning of a motivation system for research and teaching staff that supports the continuous improvement of lecturers’ knowledge and skills,
- creating mechanisms to ensure that programs are updated with the latest scientific and technological achievements,
- compliance with academic teaching standards,
- creating conditions for acquiring theoretical knowledge and practical skills for independently solving problems that future graduates will encounter in their workplace, shaping the social competences of graduates,
- developing modern educational programs based on learning outcomes and adapted to the changing requirements of the labor market,
- developing a system for verifying the achievement of the intended learning outcomes at various stages,
- cooperation with employers and employer organizations in order to provide the University with information on the competences of employed graduates in the field of modifying learning outcomes, as well as the proper organization of student professional internships,
- systematic improvement of study programs and their effects,
- supporting the mobility of employees and students,
- involving students in the process of improving education,
- creating conditions for the activities of scientific circles and other student organizations.
Regardless of these activities, the Rector carries out formal control of the discipline of teaching, the quality of the teaching process, teaching and assessment methods, teaching materials and control over the forms of assessing learning outcomes, as well as their substantive content.
