Psychology - what after studies?

Graduate of uniform master's studies in the field of psychology with a practical profile, will receive a professional title Master's degree.

Graduate psychology major:                           
– acquires detailed knowledge in the field of psychology and in the field of health and medical sciences;
– acquires the ability to use current theoretical and practical knowledge to ensure safety and a high standard of work as a psychologist;
– acquires skills in providing services in the field of promoting and maintaining mental health and preventing mental illness and crises;
– acquires the skills to observe, diagnose, and explain complex mechanisms of human behavior, formulates hypotheses and verifies them using the necessary psychological tools;
– acquires the ability to individually intervene and work psychologically with a healthy person (e.g. in the area of competence development), a person in crisis and a person with a mental illness;
– acquires the ability to work with a group, including peers, therapeutic workers and the family system, in order to promote, maintain and restore mental health;
– acquires knowledge and competences in the field of psychological support and basic knowledge of psychotherapy; 
– acquires the ability to communicate with the environment in the workplace and organize his/her own work;
– acquires the ability to establish cooperation in healthcare teams and to initiate and support local community activities for mental health;
– acquires knowledge and skills within the scope of the education path chosen by the student:
– has knowledge and understands problems in the field of psychology in Poland and around the world;
– knows a foreign language at the B2+ proficiency level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe and uses specialist vocabulary in the field of psychology.

Graduate is prepared to take up professional work, among others in public  and non-public healthcare facilities, including: hospitals, primary healthcare facilities, nursing and care facilities, palliative and hospice care centers, as well as care and educational, rehabilitation, and resocialization facilities. Detailed employment opportunities for psychology graduates are specified in the Act on the Psychologist Profession and the Professional Self-Government of Psychologists of 8 June 2001 (Journal of Laws of 2001, No. 73, item 763).
– is prepared to undertake third-cycle and postgraduate studies, as well as specialization paths in clinical psychology and psychotherapy for children and adolescents.
– is aware of the need to continue lifelong learning, including continuous deepening of knowledge and improvement of skills.
