Cosmetological trichology

Trichology is a specialized field dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of ailments related to the scalp and human hair in the fields of cosmetology and medicine. The direct reason for the development of this specialty is the constantly growing scale of scalp and hair problems.
In the modern world, trichological treatments occupy a crucial place in the offerings of beauty salons and aesthetic dermatologists. Cosmetic trichology treatments improve the condition of the scalp and hair, and proper collaboration with dermatologists ensures a high standard of service. A trichologist's role is not only to care for the scalp during specialized treatments but also to diagnose scalp and hair problems. They possess extensive knowledge of hair growth and regeneration. A trichologist also specializes in stimulating new hair growth, inhibiting hair follicle miniaturization, and prolonging the physiological hair growth process.

The aim of this course is to provide students with knowledge in the field of cosmetic and aesthetic trichology. Students will learn the methodology of trichological treatments, which will allow them to begin independent practice in this field.
The main advantage of postgraduate studies is a comprehensive approach to topics in the field of trichology and a skillful combination of theoretical and practical classes conducted by experienced lecturers and specialists with extensive professional experience.

After completing postgraduate studies in Cosmetology Trichology, graduates have the necessary knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • using specialized nomenclature in the trichological field,
  • a professional approach to cooperation with the patient and doctors of various specializations, e.g. a dermatologist in the field of hairy skin care,
  • conducting independent trichological diagnostics, providing advice on preventive care for the scalp and hair,
  • planning and performing trichological treatments to support the treatment of skin problems,
  • individual selection of cosmetics and treatments tailored to the patient's skin needs,
  • operation of specialized equipment used in trichology offices (including trichoscope, trichogram),
  • running your own trichology office and organizing trichology stations,
  • the importance of individual macro- and micronutrients in the diet for the proper functioning of the skin and appendages
  • trichological massage,
  • a holistic approach to people struggling with skin diseases and excessive hair loss.

Graduates have the opportunity to take up professional employment in:

  • facilities, offices and salons where scalp and hair care and treatment services are provided,
  • beauty salons,
  • medical offices (a trichologist may work within the framework of a dermatological practice – a doctor),
  • health and beauty clinics and institutes,
  • SPA and Wellness salons,
  • health resorts,
  • cosmetics companies (in development or training departments).

In postgraduate studies not only you will deepen your knowledge but also you will increase your chances of getting promoted or changing jobs. Trichology is a skill that increases base earnings and broadens earning potential. Trichology is an excellent extension of the knowledge and skills of a physician specializing in nail and skin diseases, including the scalp and hair growing on it.
Only comprehensively qualified specialists who combine the achievements of modern science with practice and experience will have a privileged position on the labor market.
