Scholarship

SOCIAL

It is awarded to a student in a difficult financial situation.

The maximum income entitling to receive a scholarship in the academic year 2025/2026 is PLN 1,908.90 net per month per person in the student's family.

INCREASED SOCIAL WELFARE

It is awarded for:
a) orphanhood, i.e. the fact of not having both parents or one parent as a result of death and being raised in an orphanage or in a foster family, where he or she has reached the age of majority.
b) the student's parent or sibling has a significant disability and is included in the student's family;
c) for residing in a student dormitory or in a facility other than a student dormitory, if the student is a full-time student and daily travel from their permanent residence to the university would prevent or significantly hinder studying. This benefit may be received by a person who has a lease agreement for premises in Gdańsk or its vicinity, and the distance between their permanent residence and the university is at least 50 km.

List of documents for a social scholarship for students applying in the academic year 2025/2026 

RECTOR

The Rector’s scholarship may be awarded to a student who:
1) obtained in the previous academic year:
a) has outstanding academic results (average grade of at least 4.50),
b) scientific achievements,
c) artistic achievements or
d) sporting achievements in competition at least at the national level.

A first-year student of second-cycle studies (supplementary master's degree) started within one year of completing first-cycle studies (bachelor's degree) may also apply for the Rector's scholarship,

The Rector’s scholarship may be awarded to a student who has met all of the following conditions in a given academic year:
1) obtained a grade point average of not less than 4.50 in the previous year of studies.
2) passed all examinations and obtained credits (including credits for internships) provided for in the study programme, including the study plan for a given year in the first terms without failing grades, in accordance with the examination session schedule.

In the case of completing first-cycle studies outside GAMNS, the scholarship application must be accompanied by a certificate issued by the dean’s office of the university where the student completed the studies, containing data on the date of graduation and the average grade from the last year of studies calculated to two decimal places, without including the grade from the diploma examination in the average grade.

The Rector's scholarship for sporting achievements is awarded to a student who has achieved high sporting results in national or international competitions in the two previous semesters.

The following are considered academic achievements on the basis of which a student may apply for the Rector’s scholarship:
a) publications of scientific and research works,
b) obtaining an award or distinction for scientific and research activities,
c) creative participation in research work.

Artistic achievements on the basis of which a student may apply for the Rector's scholarship are considered to be individual or group achievements in the fields of music and dance, theatre and recitation, photography and visual arts, and literature and poetry.

Based on applications for the Rector's scholarship, the Scholarship Committee prepares ranking lists according to the total number of points obtained by students, separately for students of first-cycle, second-cycle and uniform master's studies, regardless of the year and form of studies.
Ranking lists are based on the student's grade point average and documented achievements. Points earned in each of the four categories are cumulative.
If the number of applications for the Rector’s scholarship in a given field of study exceeds 10% of all students in that field, the Commission awards benefits to the students with the highest scores.

FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

A student may receive the benefit due to a disability confirmed by a decision of a competent authority.

Grant

A student who is temporarily experiencing a difficult life situation may receive financial assistance. The application must be accompanied by all documents confirming the circumstances described in the application.

ATTENTION!
ALL THE ABOVE-MENTIONED BENEFITS are not available to students holding a professional title:
A) Master's degree, Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent,
B) Bachelor's degree, Engineer's degree or equivalent if resuming first-cycle studies.

The total period for which benefits are due is 12 semesters, regardless of whether the student receives them, provided that within this period the benefits are due for studies:
1) first-cycle studies – no longer than 9 semesters;
2) second cycle – no longer than 7 semesters.

How to submit applications

  1.  in person (room 303),
  2.  by sending the application by registered mail using the services of Poczta Polska or courier companies to the following address:

  3. by submitting your application to the drop box located in the lobby of the Payments and Scholarships Office. When using this method, place the application and any attachments in an envelope. After submitting your documents, register on the list located next to the drop box (enter the date, student ID number, and type of benefit).
