Health insurance
The insurance obligation for students who are Polish citizens and under 26 years of age rests primarily with their parents or grandparents. To do this, obtain a certificate of study from the Student Services Office and give it to the parent or grandparent who will insure the student. If this is not possible (e.g., due to the death of parents or grandparents), health insurance can be arranged through the university.
Note: The university is not obligated to automatically enroll you in health insurance.
The university applies for health insurance only at the student's request (file attached)
The university registers for compulsory health insurance a student who:
• is over 26 years of age and is not covered by insurance on any other basis (work, registration at the Employment Office, working spouse),
or is under 26 years of age and:
• is a complete orphan, i.e. both parents and grandparents are dead,
• is a child of an orphanage or foster family in the period of independence and is not covered by insurance for any other reason,
• is not a Polish citizen, but meets the criteria of the Repatriation Act and has a valid Pole's Card or an opinion from the Polish Consulate issued for health insurance purposes,
and submit a questionnaire for a student registered for health insurance by the University.
Foreign student who does not have a valid Pole's Card can take out health insurance by signing a voluntary health insurance contract with the National Health Fund and paying the health insurance contribution individually.
