On March 8th, a lecture and workshop led by Tomasz Teszner, an international instructor of the FDM method, took place. The exercises presented the therapy on a specific patient.
What is FDM? „FDM is an anatomical model in which clinical symptoms combined with the patient’s body language enable the diagnosis of one or more of six specific distortions of the fascial system.”
Stephen Typaldos, Clinical and Theoretical Application of the Fascial Distortion Model within the Practice of Medicine andSurgery, 4th Edition.
FDM allows us to understand and explain abnormalities occurring in the body, but it also explains how these techniques work. However, it is not an all-knowing method; it merely highlights problems in the current state of knowledge. Therefore, further validation of existing data, transformation, and expansion of the method depend on modern therapists. Currently, FDM is most frequently and widely used in the treatment of the musculoskeletal system, but there is a significant and real chance that it will one day be used to combat visceral conditions (e.g., biliary colic) or neurological ailments.
