Dear Teachers, We cordially invite you to participate in the latest project of the Gdynia Film Center:
„"What's going on - a healthy lecture at the center"”

„"What is it about?"” – is a project of meetings for children and young people, initiated by the Gdynia Film Centre, aimed at broadly understood education in the field of both physical and mental health. Enriched with individually selected cinema screenings, the activity will combine learning with a film experience. The meetings will be conducted in cooperation with the Pomeranian Voivodeship Chief Sanitary Inspector and will be led by specialists from the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, the University of Health in Gdańsk, the Academic Health Centre, the Police, and the Education Authority, among others. Initial topics will include: healthy eating and physical activity, addiction issues, safety during summer vacations, safety in the forest, skin care – melanoma prevention, vaccinations, oral health, basic hygiene, and many more. Individual meetings dedicated to specific age groups will include primary school students in grades 1-3, 4-8, as well as youth attending secondary schools.
The project was held under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Gdynia.

THE APRIL MEETINGS WERE ADDRESSED TO SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
April 19 (Wednesday), 10:00 AM, Warsaw Room

LECTURE "„HARMFULNESS OF ENERGY DRINKS”" she said Dr. Eng. Katarzyna Żyłka from the University of Health in Gdańsk. Together we wondered whether energy drinks give us wings.
After the meeting, there was a screening of the film „"MY BEAUTIFUL SON"” directed by Felix Van Groeningen.

Timothée Chalamet i Steve Carell This moving story follows a family struggling to cope with the addiction of an adolescent boy. It's a story about a teenager searching for his path, about dreams that lead him to the brink of despair, and about the love of parents who can't let go of their child. This is the first truly honest, genuine, and moving film about family, unconditional love, pride, disappointment, and hope.

The film won awards including: Chicago International Film Festival for Best Film and for Palm Springs International Film Festival – Gala Award (Timothée Chalamet)

LECTURE „"Problematic smartphone use and social media addiction"” he led Jurand Sobiecki – psychologist and medical biologist, doctoral student at the Doctoral School of the University of Gdańsk.
After the meeting, we invited the students to a screening of the film „"BELLE"”.

THE SECOND MEETING IN THE SERIES IS JOINT TRANCY ON THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING

Once again, we had the opportunity to participate in the project "What's Running About – A HEALTHY LECTURE AT THE CENTER." As part of the meeting, Marcin Szymborski, an experienced physiotherapist and lecturer at the University of Health in Gdańsk, gave a lecture entitled "Body Mobility During a Break from Studying." The topic was met with great interest from the young people present, who enthusiastically joined in the exercises. 
Participants learned how to effectively manage stress and relax their bodies after long hours spent sitting. The lecture was followed by a screening of the film "Life Feels Good."„

THE FIRST MEETING IN THE SERIES WAS ADDRESSED TO OLDER PRIMARY SCHOOL CLASSES (GRADES 5-8).
February 23 (Thursday), 10:00 a.m., Goplana Hall
THE LECTURE "A HEALTHY SPIRIT IN A HEALTHY BODY" WAS led by clinical dietitian Michał Kaźmierczak, M.A., together with a dietetics student from the University of Health in Gdańsk, and Zbigniew Zawadzki, head of the Department of Health Promotion and Hygiene for Children and Youth at the Provincial Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Gdańsk.

After the meeting, there was a screening of the film "MY SKINNY SISTER".

Katja is a talented figure skater, constantly busy at school or training. At home, she, not her sister Stella, receives almost all of her parents' attention. Stella admires her older sister and tries to emulate her. It is she who discovers that something is wrong with Katja: she suffers from an eating disorder that could cost her life. Stella wants to tell her parents, but Katja makes her swear not to. However, this is too much for such a young girl to bear. The film shows how Katja's illness slowly brings the entire family to the brink of despair.

Best Film in the "Generation Kplus" section of the Berlin International Film Festival. It also won the Audience Award in Gothenburg.
