Sports dietetics
SPORTS DIETETICS in the second cycle of master's studies is a path of education focused on acquiring specialist knowledge and skills in the field of sports nutrition and its application in order to optimize the performance of athletes and physically active people.
The goal of this track is to prepare students to work as highly qualified dietitians, specializing in providing nutritional support to athletes from various sports, both professional and amateur, as well as to individuals participating in both active and recreational sports. During this program, students will gain advanced knowledge in exercise physiology, metabolism during training, and recovery from exercise. They will learn to identify the unique nutritional needs of athletes based on their discipline, training intensity, seasonality, and other factors. Students will explore various aspects of athletic nutrition, such as optimizing body composition, increasing muscle mass, regulating body weight, proper hydration, and nutritional supplementation to enhance performance and achieve better athletic results.
Additionally, the curriculum will include knowledge about nutrition and supplementation before, during, and after competition, as well as during recovery periods. Students will learn how to adapt nutritional plans to various training phases and how to effectively collaborate with coaches and other sports professionals to provide comprehensive support to athletes. The Sports Dietetics program will enable graduates to work in sports clubs, training centers, and sports federations, as well as as independent nutritional consultants for athletes and amateur athletes. This specialization will allow graduates to play a key role in improving athletes' performance, health, and physical well-being through carefully designed nutrition plans and supplementation.
