Library

The Library of the Gdańsk University of Medical Sciences is located on the lowest level of the university building, in room 014. This location allows for peace and quiet necessary for effective learning.

The library has 10 traditional workstations and 3 computerized workstations fully adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. Each workstation includes a computer with Speech2Go software with an Ivona Polish narrator and ZoomText Magnifier with speech, a touchscreen monitor, and a ZoomText keyboard.

Currently, the library has nearly 6,500 volumes of books in Polish and foreign languages, as well as nearly 550 e-books in the field of medical and health sciences. The collection includes all bibliographic items listed in the syllabi and required reading list. Furthermore, the GAMNS library also stocks new publications to keep students up-to-date with current trends in their fields of study and to ensure that available textbooks provide answers to problems arising during student internships and, later, in their professional careers.

In addition to scientific literature, textbooks and e-books, the GAMNS library also has a large collection of health science journals, which provide students with access not only to articles but also to the latest research and reports from the medical world.

Additionally, the GAMNS library allows students to use full-text databases, including the Virtual Science Library and the Academica Digital Library of Scientific Publications, which can be accessed via the university's internet connection.

The lending library and reading room are serviced using the LIBRA Net computer library program. The library catalog is available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Borrowed books can also be returned outside library opening hours via library returns box.
