The constant wailing of sirens, countless moving stories every day, adrenaline, and countless lives saved. This is the image that most people have in mind when they imagine the daily life of a paramedic.
On International Emergency Medical Services Day, we invited you to an inspiring meeting with Łukasz Wodziński, a long-time lecturer at the Gdańsk School of Vocational Education, who daily grapples with the various challenges of being a paramedic. Mr. Łukasz gave instructions on how to properly provide first aid.
The presenters and participants raised the following issues:
As a paramedic, should you get rid of feelings and emotions in order to approach human suffering professionally and in a professional manner?
How to cope with the overwhelming emotions of the injured person's loved ones who lose control of their emotions and make the rescuer's work difficult?
How often should we repeat the first aid course?
Can a child save an adult's life and what age is appropriate to start learning what to do in the event of an accident?
In the meantime, we join in extending our best wishes to all those who every day care for the most precious gift of human life and health.
