Employers' Council meetings

ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026

The winter semester saw a meeting of the Employers' Council – a forum for cooperation, dialogue, and exchange of experiences between the University and representatives of various sectors and industries. The Employers' Council plays a key role in improving study programs, analyzing labor market needs, and supporting the University in preparing graduates for real-world professional challenges. The meeting discussed the University's current initiatives, ongoing EU projects, and the most important trends and expectations of employers for future professionals. The exchange of experiences, open discussion, and joint search for solutions confirmed the importance of partnership between the worlds of science and business.

We would like to thank all participants for their time, commitment and valuable advice – it is thanks to this cooperation that we can continuously develop the educational offer of the University of Health in Gdańsk.

ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025

In the autumn of 2024, a meeting of the University Authorities took place with representatives of the Employers' Council of the socio-economic environment, employers and practitioners.

The aim of the discussion panels was to:

optimizing the investments undertaken, which helped to precisely determine the parameters of the equipment planned for purchase as part of new investments, and thus improve the efficiency of spending funds,
preparing changes to educational programmes, directing modifications to subjects and educational programmes, specifying the scope of modifications, determining ECTS credits,
determining the precise scope of additional support for students and teaching staff,
identifying good practices for further implementation in planned activities,
discussion of current and future needs of employers,
educating employers about the importance and significance of digital competences.

ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024

In the 2023/2024 academic year, in addition to ongoing working meetings with employer representatives, formal in-person meetings were also initiated. The first of these was held with representatives of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Board and the Copernicus Medical Center Board. Topics covered included, among others, a discussion of the quality of education in medical and related fields offered at the university, identifying the needs of the socio-economic environment and changes taking place in the labor market, discussing recommendations for new, in-demand fields of study, and discussing the key learning outcomes defined in the study programs.

The second meeting was held with representatives of the "Crohn's Card" Program and representatives of the socio-economic community. The meeting addressed issues related to inflammatory bowel disease and its impact on the daily functioning and lives of patients. The "Crohn's Card" Program was also presented (what this initiative is, what it offers, and what it involves). A formal agreement was signed, and a sign announcing the university's participation in the program was officially affixed.

In the fall of 2023, invited guests discussed with the University Authorities possible forms of cooperation between the University of Health in Gdańsk and the companies they represented. Experts presented their concepts regarding student development paths, ideas for expanding educational offerings, and ways to enhance the competencies of future graduates. The meeting also provided an excellent opportunity to exchange insights on current employer expectations for graduates of health sciences programs. We sincerely thank all participants for their attendance and look forward to continued successful and fruitful collaboration.
