On March 17, 2023, fascinating workshops were held for high school graduates, focusing on the principles of proper nutrition and its impact on academic performance. The meeting was led by Katarzyna Żyłka, PhD, Eng., a lecturer at the University, who explained to the students how nutrition can impact our physical and mental well-being. During the workshops, participants had the opportunity to participate in laboratory exercises, examining the composition of selected food products. This allowed the students to learn the differences between natural and processed foods and gain practical knowledge about the nutrients the body needs. The classes were very engaging, and the hands-on experience in the chemistry lab was a wonderful complement to Dr. Żyłka's lecture. The high school students eagerly explored the impact of diet on our well-being and learned which foods to choose for a daily diet that is as balanced and beneficial to health as possible.
The workshops were an excellent opportunity to encourage young people to visit the University during various open events organized within the walls of the WSZ in Gdańsk and to apply for study recruitment.
