Classical massage course, first degree

The Gdansk Medical Academy of Applied Sciences cordially invites you to the course CLASSIC MASSAGE FIRST DEGREE!

By participating in this course, you will learn classical massage techniques. You will gain practical experience through repeated exercises. You will learn the physiology of how tissues and the human body react to the mechanical stimulus of massage, including the indications and contraindications for its use. We provide all cosmetic and hygiene products. Our studio is equipped with professional tables for hands-on massage training.

Course program

1. Exercises:

  • preparing the patient for massage, teaching the technique of stroking and rubbing, the anatomical structure of the skin, the effect of stroking and rubbing on the body, teaching the technique of kneading, shaking and vibration, the effect of kneading and shaking on the body, improving the technique of stroking and rubbing.
  • Methodology of performing classical massage of the lower limb (initial position of the patient - lying on the front)
  • methodology of performing classical massage of the lower limb (initial position of the patient – lying on the back), perfecting classical massage of the lower limb (lying on the back)
  • classical massage methodology for the upper limbs and shoulder girdle
  • methodology of classic back and neck massage
  • classic chest and abdomen massage
  • methodology of classic total body massage

2. Lectures:

  • Classic massage – theory of classical massage, rules and conditions applicable when performing classical massage
  • mechanism of action of massage, classical massage techniques – indications and contraindications
  • massage parlor, classical massage methodology

Participants receive teaching materials included in the course fee. Participation is confirmed by a certificate.

Duration

  • 34 teaching hours (1 h = 45 minutes).

  • 1,350 PLN – for GAMNS Students
  • 1,450 PLN – for other participants

Leading

Dr. Małgorzata Kawa – Ph.D. in Physical Culture, lecturer at the Gdańsk Medical Academy of Applied Sciences, and long-time head of the Department of Manual Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Wellness at the Department of Health and Natural Sciences at the Gdańsk University of Physical Education and Sport. A specialist in wellness, sports massage, and therapeutic massage. Author of scientific publications in the fields of physiotherapy, wellness, and massage.

Campus B of the Gdańsk University of Medical Sciences, Piastowska Street 7. Room 114/116 (level 1). 

Course date

October 2026.  
The first (theoretical) classes are conducted remotely. The schedule for subsequent meetings is determined during the online classes. 
The organization of the course depends on gathering the required number of participants.

Recruitment

Recruitment is carried out on a first-come, first-served basis.
We consider registration to be the submission/sending of the required documents and payment of the training fee.

Payment for training should be made to university account. The documents should be submitted immediately to the Promotion and Recruitment Office, room 101, or sent as scans to the following address: kursy@gamns.edu.pl.

The condition for launching the training is the registration and payment of a minimum of 16 people.
