World Health Day 2021
World Health Day 2021
„Building a fairer, healthier world for everyone” – Building a fairer and healthier world for everyone.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
on the occasion of the celebrations World Health Day, the University of Health in Gdańsk, organized an expert debate entitled. „"Recovery.".
April 7 A meeting of experts and specialists in the field of health sciences took place within the walls of the University, who discussed recovery from COVID-19 and health prevention during the ubiquitous pandemic.
This year's World Health Day celebrations around the world are being held under the slogan „"Building a fairer and healthier world for all"”
. The pervasive pandemic has limited development opportunities and negatively impacted numerous economic sectors, worsening the economic situation of people across the globe. The goal of World Health Day is to call for action to eliminate health inequalities, bringing people together to build a fairer and healthier world. The campaign underscores the WHO's constitutional principle that "the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health is a fundamental right of every human being, regardless of race, religion, political belief, economic, or social condition.".
We are convinced that the meeting provided an important impetus for deepening our society's knowledge and awareness of preventive healthcare, fostering healthy eating habits, and physical activity, as well as mutual support during such a difficult and challenging period. This year, in the interests of everyone's safety, the planned event was organized online. However, we assure you that remote communication with participants did not diminish the substantive value of the meeting and allowed us to safely promote aspects crucial to both the entire academic community and the residents of Pomerania: the protection and promotion of preventive healthcare.
Outstanding experts and specialists were invited to the expert debate, and together they discussed topics including:permitted physical activity after illness,
ways of self-regeneration and rehabilitation,
coping with stress, anxiety and depression,
psychological support for people after long-term isolation,
what to do in case of problems with concentration, memory, logical thinking,
coping during or after cancer treatment in the face of a pandemic
