Charity event – Sewing raspberry gadgets for post-mastectomy patients

The University of Health in Gdańsk, together with the 3maliny Foundation, organized an extraordinary charity event of sewing raspberry gadgets for patients after mastectomy.

The event took place November 17 at the headquarters of the University of Health in Gdańsk.

The students had a wonderful time and took care of their health at the same time. The meeting was also an opportunity to learn how to perform a breast self-examination using manikins.

What does the foundation do?
The 3maliny Foundation was established in 2019. These unassuming pillows, created thanks to the dedication of the foundation's founders and volunteers, serve a therapeutic purpose, alleviating pain, providing relief, and supporting post-mastectomy patient rehabilitation. In the spring of 2019, the process of sewing bags for Redon bottles, which hold fluid from the surgical site, also began. These bags allow patients to move freely.
In 2020, thanks to the implementation of a grant from the Development Initiation Fund, people involved in the foundation's activities visited Pomeranian schools for three months, where they took part in joint sewing and lectures on prevention.
