Nursing - Educational Objectives

The aim of education in the field of nursing is to prepare professionally educated medical personnel by providing comprehensive knowledge (basic and specialized) and developing practical skills and acquiring appropriate social competences at the first-cycle level in line with the needs of the developing market economy and with a sense of the University's responsibility towards society.

The following general objectives have been formulated for the first-cycle studies in nursing:

  • providing comprehensive and interdisciplinary knowledge and skills in the field of health and medical sciences, which will equip the student with professional knowledge and skills in the field of nursing based on medical knowledge enabling independent practice of the profession,

  • preparing graduates to work independently with sick people, providing a high level of care in accordance with the principles of professional ethics and applicable legal regulations, as well as providing services to healthy people in the field of health promotion and disease prevention,

  • shaping appropriate attitudes taking into account: ethical standards and openness to cultural and social diversity, the ability to work independently and in a group, and personal development with the need for lifelong learning.
