Society's demand for medical services is constantly growing, and the shortage of healthcare workers is becoming increasingly apparent. Obtaining a nursing degree is therefore becoming a significant asset in the job market. Nursing studies at our university represent a new path forward in medical training in northern Poland.
The nursing field of study enables students to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills that will professionally prepare students for future work – in hospitals, health centers, sanatoriums, and private practices.
By studying nursing, you will understand the mechanisms of the human body, the processes occurring within it, and how to respond to them. The three-year bachelor's degree program will also prepare you for effective communication with patients and their families, revealing what to pay attention to and what to consider during conversations. You will learn how to provide comprehensive and personalized care for the sick, disabled, and dying. You will discover the secrets of pediatric, surgical, and psychiatric nursing. You will acquire knowledge and skills in obstetrics, emergency medical services, geriatrics, and many other fields of health and medical sciences. During the three years of study, you will acquire many new skills, including learning how to provide preventative care, health promotion, and disease prevention services. Nursing studies at our university combine modernity with experience.
The Gdańsk Medical University of Applied Sciences guarantees quality and the highest level of education. As a university with a practical profile, we place great emphasis on practical classes and professional internships. Currently, the Gdańsk Medical University of Applied Sciences has signed over 120 agreements and arrangements for student internships in various fields, including 36 with Tricity hospitals, spas, and social welfare centers, with which the University has been collaborating for over 12 years – their business profiles are suitable for professional internships in the nursing program. These are facilities providing healthcare services – public and private healthcare facilities, including hospitals of various profiles, specialist and multi-specialty clinics, clinics and offices, care facilities, retirement homes, and hospices.
Teaching activities in this field are carried out in the form of full-time studies in the following system:
- Monday–Friday,
- Thursday–Sunday.
Selected teaching activities that are not practical in nature, i.e. lectures, may be conducted remotely using distance learning methods and techniques in a number not exceeding the requirements specified in the standard of education preparing for the profession of nurse, specified in the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Science of 26 July 2019 on the standards of education preparing for the profession of nurse (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1573, as amended).

We are very proud to announce that students of 
NURSING at the Gdańsk Medical Academy of Applied Sciences (formerly the Gdańsk University of Health) – Dominika Wirkus and Sebastian Czupa, took part in the 1st International Knowledge and Skills Olympiad in the field of LIFESTYLE NURSING IN CIVILIZATION-RELATED DISEASES.
The event was organized by the Department of Nursing Fundamentals, the Department of Geriatric Nursing of the Medical University of Warsaw and the National Medical Institute in Ivano-Frankivsk.
