Dietetics - what after studies?

As a dietetics graduate, you can OPEN YOUR OWN DIETARY OFFICE or take up a professional job in:

  • public and private healthcare facilities,
  • mass catering establishments and establishments supplying food to hospitals and other mass catering facilities (catering),
  • consumer organizations,
  • sports facilities,
  • in education – after completing a teaching specialization (in accordance with the standards of education preparing for the teaching profession).

As a dietetics graduate, you gain:

  • education and professional preparation in the field of nutrition for healthy and sick people and food preparation technology,
  • knowledge and skills to plan rational nutrition for various population groups, planning and preparing dishes included in individual diets in accordance with the applicable classification,
  • preparation for assessing nutritional status, diet and recognizing malnutrition,
  • preparation for the prevention of diet-related diseases, as well as the assessment of the mutual influence of pharmacotherapy and nutrition,
  • preparation for controlling the quality of food products and their storage conditions and food production in accordance with the principles of the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) system,
  • knowledge and skills to assess the impact of disease on nutritional status and the impact of nutrition on the outcomes of disease treatment,
  • preparation for organizing individual, collective and therapeutic nutrition adapted to the age and health of patients and conducting nutritional education,
  • general and professional preparation applicable in health care.
